What is Cryptography?

What is Cryptography?
Cryptography is used to secure sensitive data information using Encryption and Decryption algorithm.

What is Encryption algorithm?
In encryption algorithm, system add key(Public and Private) into plain text and convert main message into Cypher text.

What is plain text?
Plain text is normal message and that message can read by anyone.

What is Cypher text?
Cypher text is also one type of message but third party user(i.e. attacker) can't read real message because that is encrypted with encryption algorithm.

What is Decryption algorithm?
Decryption algorithm convert cypher text into plain text with the help of key(Public and private)

Below is model of cryptography.

Cryptography model
Cryptography model

Now why Cryptography is needed?
Suppose you send a message to your friends via any of communication channel,so third party(Attacker) leak your data from communication Chanel and read sensitive data if you are not using Cryptographic algorithm,But if we use cryptographic model then attacker leak your data from communication Chanel but they will get only cypher text,so attacker can't decode your real message without knowing key.

Cryptanalyst:-Cryptanalyst is technique to get plain text from cypher text without using any of key.some cryptanalysis decode plain text using multiple technology like brute force and Algorithm research.

Brute force attack:-In this Attack Cryptanalyst use every key to decrypt cypher text.If Cryptographic algorithm is weak then cryptanalysis get key and generate plain text.

Algorithm research:-In this attack cryptanalysis first get knowledge about which type of algorithm is used, then research on every algorithm function and try to get some details about key. It's very hard technique to get plain text but Cryptanalysis have much knowledge to decode cypher text.
